New In Beauty

Hey guys! Today's post is going to be all about new in beauty. Most of these products aren't new to the beauty community but they're new to me. I've doing a lot of shopping recently since I have a part time job to fund the shopping addiction. There's a mix of skincare and makeup in this in this post and I have tried most of it so I will tell ye what I think of them, so I hope you enjoy.

La Roche Posay Effaclar Duo
As my skin has been acting up so much recently I decided to give this a go as people rave about it and my brother swears by it. I never thought I’d be getting skincare advice from him! So far I have been liking it as it’s not too harsh on my skin, which is the main thing I don’t like about other skincare products targeted towards acne. Obviously I can’t say whether it has worked yet but I’m liking it so far and I will keep ye updated.

Boots Botanics Facial Oil
Once again I purchased this as my skin has gone mad and I don’t know what’s going on with it at all. My friend Amy told me about this and I've heard a lot about this brand from Irish bloggers so I picked it up to try. I was initially concerned about using an oil on acne prone skin but it actually works really well to hydrate the skin. I thought I had a allergic reaction to this but thankfully it was something else I was using! This oil is really nice to use after a face mask or a shower when my skin is drier. It sinks in really quickly and doesn't leave an oily residue on my skin which is great. I got this on offer so it was around €4 and that is such a bargain for such a great skincare product.

Collection - Fast Stroke Eyeliner – Brown
I could not use liquid liner even if my life depended on it but I actually think I'm getting a little better at it! I was using a Maybeline liner but it dried out so quickly so I decided to give this one a go. I heard loads about it from Suzie who has the blog Hello October. Brown liquid liner is actually quite hard to find so when I heard about this one I had to pick it up and try it because it's so affordable. I'm really liking this so far, it's really easy to apply and create flicks with. I'll keep practicing my winged liner and this liner has definitely helped with the application of it.

Mac Lipstick – Blankety
When I got my first pay check I wanted to mark the occasion with a Mac lipstick (I sound like such a makeup addict now!). I wanted to get a nude lipstick as I have loads of nudes but they're browny nudes and warm toned nudes so I went into Mac and was literally there for hours trying to find my perfect nude lipstick. Finally I settled on Blankety which is just a plain neutral nude that I was definitely lacking in my collection. It's an amplified formula which means there's a lot of colour pay off which is great. I can't wait to try and layer it over different liners and experiment with it a bit more. Mac lipsticks are definitely worth the investment.

Catrice High Glow Mineral Highlighting Powder
One day during my break in work I had a look around Sam Mac Cauleys and found the highlighter that bloggers were raving about a couple of months ago. Of course I had to pick it up and see what all the fuss was about. This highlighter is absolutely gorgeous and I can see what all the fuss is about. Not only is it ridiculously creamy it is also gorgeously pigmented. It’s a white based highlighter with a slight gold shimmer so I think it would suit most skin tones. Definitely pick this up and give it a go if you haven’t already.

Catrice Liquid Camouflage Concealer - 010 Porcelain
My friend Cliona Hill loves the Catrice Camouflage Cream and for some reason the lightest shade is too dark for me but the lightest shade in the liquid is grand?! So of course if Cliona loved the cream I had to pick this up and give it a try. This is fab because not only does it have great coverage and is pale enough for me, it also doesn’t
cling to any dry patches on my skin which is perfect for covering spots. It’s also longlasting and blends seamlessly into the skin which is what I look for in a concealer.

Catrice Longlasting Lip Pencil - Vintage Rose
You can probably tell I’ve gone a bit Catrice mad lately! I haven’t tried much from Catrice at all and once I tried the highlighter and was so impressed I had to try some more. After buying the Mac lipstick I wanted to get a liner to go with it so I decided to pick one up from Catrice because I love the Essence liners, and they’re owned by the same company so they’re really similar. This liner is a great colour match, doesn’t drag on the lips, and lasts really well. If you haven’t tried the Essence or Catrice liners you should try them because they are so inexpensive.
Urban Decay Naked Ultimate Basics Palette
When I saw bloggers receiving press samples of this palette I knew straight away that I needed to get it. It’s a fully matte palette which is probably the first of its kind. Whenever I am doing eye makeup I always put matte shadows in my crease so I know I will get a lot of use out of this. There are the basic creams, browns, and smokier colours that you would expect but also a warm brown and purples that are quite rare. All the shades are beautiful and very pigmented and although I haven’t used this palette much yet I already love it and can’t wait to get to create different look with it.

Benefit Roller Lash – Brown
This is the only product that I haven't tried yet so I can't tell ye what I think about it yet. Benefit released their loved Roller Lash in brown in September and since I only wear brown mascara I was so excited to try it out. Maybeline's Lash Sensational mascara is supposed to be a dupe for this mascara and I have used that before and loved it. I can't wait to start using this and I'm hoping to do a comparison blogpost between this and the apparent dupe. Have you tried this?
I hope you enjoyed hearing me ramble about my newest beauty purchases. Have you any new in beauty products?

  1. Nice post! I love La Roche Posay Effaclar Duo but it is nothing compared to Lush Grease Lightning. It is a great everyday spot killer though.
