The Budget Serum

Hey guys! I'm so sorry that I didn't publish a blogpost last night as I usually do (7pm every Friday), but this week I've been quite sick. I really wanted to get this post up so better late than never! Today I'm going to share my thoughts on this budget serum that I picked up from Aldi.

I have always heard that Aldi have great affordable skincare but I have never tried anything from them. I thought they were all aimed towards older skin types as they have anti-ageing properties. I heard Siobhán from LetzMakeup talk about this serum a couple of months ago and she thought it was a good dupe for the Vichy Aqualia Thermal serum. I had wanted to try a serum for a while and when I heard that Siobhán liked it I knew I had to try it out.

The serum in question is the Lacura Aqua Complete Multi Intensive Serum that was only €4.99.  I was quite intimidated to use it because I have spotty skin and I had never used a serum before but I have so glad I started using it. I apply it on to cleansed and toned skin and then smooth my moisturiser over the top of it. It glides over the skin really easily and its thin texture sinks in really quickly. It has a slight scent to it but once it's on the face it isn't noticeable at all.

Overall I have been using it for almost a month and it has dramatically improved the texture of my skin. My skin feels hydrated and smooth and not at all oily. By using a tiny dot of the product once in the morning and again in the evening I have noticed that my skin is much more moisturised.

Having spot prone skin I was afraid that the serum was going add too much moisture to my skin and make me to breakout more but that is certainly not the case. If you have teenage skin like me I would suggest using a tiny bit at a time just to make sure that your skin won't freak out.

I think everyone would like this product, anyone with dry dehydrated skin or oily and acne prone skin. Basically if you have a face you should go to your local Aldi and pick it up. Although I cannot compare it to any other serum as this is the first one I have tried, I would think that this would be just as good if not better than any higher end serum.

Have you tried any skincare from the Lacura brand from Aldi?
