I'm constantly trying out new products and reading all about the new skincare trends and products. I think that you might as well invest time and effort into your skin instead of piling on makeup to try and make your skin look better. Why not look after your skin so you don't have to wear loads of makeup to hide it! As well as loving skincare products, I adore the science behind skincare and I hope to study and research that at some stage in the future.
So you can probably tell that I love buying new skincare products and trying new things and seeing what works best for my skin. Today I'm going to share some bits that I picked up recently. Some of the things I have tried, one thing I have used before, and other products I haven't tried and have never used before, so let's get started with this skincare chat.
Lush Eau Roma Toner Water
This is the product that is a repurchase and every time I repurchase it I fall in love with this toner all over again. I was using a rose water toner to use it up and I really did see a difference in my skin when I started using this one from Lush. Although this also has rose in it, it's balanced out with lavender which together work really well to calm and soothe the skin. I know lots of people don't use a toner in their skincare routine but it really does change your skin! Toners are an extra step that takes a little more time but they really help your skin problems. For instance my skin can freak out and be quite sensitive really easily so this toner helps to clam it down and make sure it doesn't freak out as often! If you had problems with blackheads or excess oil you could get a toner for that specific problem and it really would help your skin. I adore this toner and if you don't use a toner then I highly suggest you go and try one out.
L'Oreal Clay Pure Detox Mask
If you follow Makeup by Sophie on Snapchat (@SophieMua9), then you would have heard her rave about this mask from L'Oreal. I heard lots about it when bloggers were receiving it from PR companies and by the time it hit the shelves I was eager to try it out. There are three masks in the range, all clay masks for different skin types. Sophie adores the 'Purity Mask' but I thought it would be too drying on my skin so I decided to give the 'Detox Mask' a go. I absolutely adore this suff. Although it can be quite harsh on the skin if you have extremely sensitive skin or if you leave it on too long, but once you do what it says on the tin it works wonders. I use this once a week and you can see it clearing out the gunk in your pores as it dries, it's amazing! I would definitely recommend trying a mask from this range as I have heard such great things abut the other two masks in the range.
Sanctuary Spa Polishing Hot Cloth Cleanser
I was heartbroken when I ran out of my Liz Earle Cleanse & Polish as it works amazingly but is quite expensive if you're on a beauty budget like me. I decided to see what other hot cloth cleanser Boots had on offer and I was definitely surprised at how many other brands do the same cleanse for a cheaper price. I decided to try this one from Sanctuary Spa which was a few euro cheaper than the Liz Earle but you got a muslin cloth as well as the cleanser which I was delighted about. I honestly think that both cleansers work exactly the same and the only difference I had noticed is the smell which doesn't really bother me to be honest! I'm definitely going to test out the other cleansers on offer before I repurchase the Liz Earle one and maybe I might even do a blogpost about them all, the battle of the hot cloth cleansers!
Olay 2in1 Hydration + SPF Lightweight Lotion
The last two products I haven't tried yet but I said I'd still share them with ye. So the first of these products I heard a lot about in the blogging community. When I started running out of moisturiser this is the first one I decided to pick up. I'm not sure but you can't get this in Boots and I couldn't find it in any other shops in Ireland so I ended up buying it on Superdrug's website. I must say that the service and delivery from Superdrug is incredible! I got free delivery because I signed up to their reward card programme. I got both the moisturisers on offer and I got a free body set which had a body butter and shower gel in. I was drawn to this moisturiser because it seemed lightweight yet moisturising which sounds right up my street. Although I am yet to try all of these products I am so excited to and I will keep you updated with what I think of everything.
Olay Complete Moisturiser Fluid -Normal/Oily Skin
When I was on the Superdrug website and Olay skincare was on offer I said I might as well pick up another moisturiser to try while I'm at it! This seems like a lighter moisturiser than the other one and seems like it would suit oilier skin better. Since my skin isn't normal but isn't oily I decided to pick up both to try and I could always mix the two if needs be. Once again I haven't tried this so I don't have much to say about it but I will definitely keep ye updated with what I think about both of these moisturisers.
