We've all had plenty of those days when you actually have to function and look like a human the morning after the night before. We have all been there many a time and makeup is usually the last thing on your mind. Well today I'm going to show you that if you take five or ten minutes and strategically throw some makeup on you can hide a hangover perfectly.
This blogpost is going up just in time because as it's 'Refreshers Week' this week in UCC and other colleges are back over the next few weeks so there will be plenty of late nights followed by morning lectures coming soon.
The biggest thing when you've had a few too many is hydration, both for your body and skin when it comes to makeup. First of all have a big glass of water and then reach for your moisturiser. And then you're ready to start the makeup.
I started everything with a moisturising primer, again because hydration is the biggest priority. This one I used is moisturising while also pore refining which I applied to my t-zone. I then grabbed another primer (I'm high maintenance I know) that is an illuminating primer to add a lot of glow back into my dull, dehydrated skin and I put this all over my skin.
The next thing I did was use a medium coverage dewy foundation. This foundation is great because it's really light and you can't feel it on your skin which is what you want. I put dots of it all over my face and then blended it in with a brush.
Now that I evened out my skin tone and added another layer of glow, concealer was the next thing I reached for. I think all of us need a lot of concealer the morning after the night before to be honest!
I applied plenty of concealer under my eyes and blended it in with the warmth of my ring finger. And then I applied some concealer over any spots or discolouration.
I then took my favourite loose powder to set that concealer in place so it will last and not slip and slide all over my face.
Now that my base is done the next thing to do is add some colour back into my skin because your face can look a bit dull and grey after a night of alcohol. I started with a warm, matte bronzer and applied that in the '3E' shape to my face.
I then went in with a really bright blush and applied this to the apples of my cheeks making sure to use a light hand and even dust off the excess on the back of my hand. We want to look alive, not like a clown!
Brows always make such a difference when it comes to makeup so I would definitely recommend doing them to look alive and awake. I would recommend going with something light and easy because you don't want to spend ages trying to perfect your brows.
I went in with a light pencil and filled them in and then went in with a tinted brow gel to give them a fuller look.
The next step is quite unnecessary but it's a quick, easy step that will add a lot of brightness and light to your eyes and you even look like you took time in the morning to do your makeup (when in reality it took less than ten minutes to shove it onto your face!)
So what I did was grabbed a really shimmery eyeshadow palette and put a really shimmery champagne colour all over the lid. I then took a brighter almost golden colour and put this in the inner corner.
I then finally put a darker champagne colour into the outer third of my eye. It literally takes five seconds for each eye and it really does make such a difference.
The most basic thing to do is to put mascara on so that is obviously going to be the next step. You know yourself the difference a coat of mascara does, it really opens up your eyes and changes your whole face.
The final thing I did was to throw on some lipstick. I went for a peachy pink lip that has a slightly glossy finish. Once again hydration is key so adding a glossy lipstick which would be a lot more comfortable in comparison to a matte one.

And there we have it, we're done. This would only take five or ten minutes and definitely makes such difference. And I personally think it hides a hangover.
