Because Cork is so small the news gets around fairly quickly when somewhere new opens up. So obviously I presume that you've heard of the new burrito bar called Boojum that opened where Ginos was on Winthrop street. So of course I had to try it out and bring my camera with me and share my experience with ye.
As soon as I walked in I was impressed with the layout. The place is really modern, clean and bright with cool quirky decor which is something I appreciate. Even though the place was busy there were still some places to sit and eat. It's also in a great location because it's bang smack in the middle of Cork so it's easy to get to and access.
Now onto the part that you probably are here for, the food. I got the chicken burrito and it was so good. They had a huge choice of toppings and different vegetables and all that jazz. They are definitely known for their burritos but they also have burritos bowls, fajitas and all things Mexican. Even though I hate spice and can't even handle the red Doritos you can definitely avoid the spice in Boojum which I really appreciate.
The other thing I really appreciated was the service. The staff were really friendly and approachable. The big thing though is that if you order anything that has a base of vegetables instead of meat the person making your food will ask if you'd like them to change their gloves which for vegetarians and vegans is really accommodating and a nice gesture.
It was really affordable, especially for fab food and great portions. They also have a student discount which I really appreciate because this broke student takes anything they can get! If the staff member doesn't ask if you have a student ID then definitely mention it to them to make sure you get your discount. So if you haven't been to Boojum yet definitely pop in to see what all the fuss is about.
Are there any other new restaurants you'd like me to try out in Cork? If there are would you like me to start a 'series' of trying out food places? Let me know in the comments below.
