At the end of October I cut my hair and to me it was a drastic change! My usual hairstyles that I wore on a day to day basis looked a bit strange with shorter hair or I didn't have enough hair to do them with. So I had to go back to the drawing board and find some simple quick hairstyles to wear everyday. I decided to share with you today three of my go to hairstyles that work on my short hair.
The Double Braid
When I was in London in the middle of December I was so inspired by a hairstyle I saw on Eliie Goulding at her charity concert. It was a really casual laid back down style with a braid on either side which is perfect to keep your hair off your face.
This is the easiest of the three styles. All I did was put my hair into a centre part and added some mousse to create some wave and texture. I then picked up a section on either side, braided them and then secured them with bobby pins. I made sure to lift a section of hair over the
bobby pins to conceal them.
The Low Bun
I used to love throwing my hair in a high bun when I had longer hair. I recreated my much loved hairstyle by adding some volume around my roots and sweeping my hair into a low
bun at the nape of my neck.
To add some volume I used a dry backcombing spray and sprayed it into my roots and then made sure I rubbed it in to make sure there was no powder residue. After that I took all of my hair at the nape of my neck and then twisted the ponytail. I then twisted the ponytail around itself and secured it with a hair bobble. I loosened the hair and pinned any loose bits from the bun.
The Messy Fishtail
The last hairstyle probably takes the most practice but once you have practiced it a few times it only takes a few minutes and it's a prefect way to hide greasy locks. To add some texture to my hair I sprizted some sea salt spray into the lengths of my hair.
I then divided my hair into two sections higher than the nape of my neck so the braid would start higher than a usual braid would. Then I began to fishtail braid the length of hair. I'm not going to try and explain how to do this and it wouldn't make much sense but there are fab tutorials on YouTube if you don't know how to fishtail. I secured the end of the braid with a clear elastic and made everything really loose.

I hope you enjoyed seeing my favourite way to style my shorter hair.
