The Power Of Makeup

Last year I did a post about confidence with no makeup and I decided to do a post along the same lines of that. I want to talk about the power of makeup. I have seen lots of bloggers and vloggers talk about this subject. They apply makeup to half their face to show the power of makeup, how it can cover, enhance and conceal. That is exactly what I did, I put makeup on the left side of my face and left the right half completely bare.

I love this idea as it shows people how makeup can enhance natural beauty. How these people feel more confident and comfortable in their own skin after they apply makeup. This tag shows people that you can use makeup to express yourself in an art form for people to see.

What people don't understand is that makeup is powerful and it can add so much to an already beautiful face. When you remove your makeup you shouldn't remove your self confidence with it.
Everyone should feel confident and more importantly beautiful in their own skin. The freckles and acne scars and stretch marks are battle scars from living.

I don't wear makeup to cover anything. I don't cake on foundation to create a new layer of skin. I use makeup to enhance my features, it's my creative outlet and how I do my makeup is my form of art.
I hate hearing people say "oh don't take a picture of me I don't have any makeup on",that is absolute rubbish because everyone is beautiful as they are. Even with their dark circles or other imperfections. Society leads us to believe that to feel beautiful and confident you have to look airbrushed in every shape and form.

What I am trying to say is that it is so important to love your own skin, with blemishes and imperfections. Yes makeup does make me feel a little more confident and I love wearing makeup to enhance my natural face. But that doesn't mean I need makeup to believe in myself and to love myself. Even though it took a while I can now say that whether I have a full fave of makeup on or nothing at all I feel comfortable and confident in my own skin. Makeup has the power to make you feel fabulous but don't give makeup the power to remove your confidence when you remove it.

I you haven't read my post similar to this from last year then click here to give it a read. I hope you enjoyed this post, I'd love to see your version of 'The Power Of Makeup' tag!

  1. Nice post! I love the idea of The Power of Makeup tag as it can put any way the individual interprets it. There was a similar tag during the Summer of last year, I think it was called 'Don't Judge a Book by Its cover' but it ended up being so vain and insulting.
