Hey guys! So I asked a while ago whether ye would be interested in a skincare roundup type blogpost and the majority said yes so that's what I'm going to do today. This isn't my full skincare routine, these are just some products that I think are worth the mention or else I haven't mentioned before. My skin is quite normal/combination but extremely acne prone and can get bit sensitive from time to time. It's also good to know that what might work for me might not work for you even if we have similar skin types, skincare is such a personal thing and can vary dramatically from person to person.
Garnier Pure Active Sensitive Cleanser
If you're a fan of the La Roche Posay Effaclar Cleanser then you need to try this ASAP. It is basically the exact same product, no harsh scents and doesn't lather too much to the point of drying out your skin. The only difference between the two is the price and this is a third if not a quarter of the price. It's such a good dupe and is well worth the try. I feel like it keeps my skin clear and balanced without stripping it and drying it out.
Pixi Glow Tonic
I finally got my hands on this acid toner that is so hyped in the beauty world and it is definitely worth that hype. The only thing I would say is that it's not for sensitive or easily irritated skin at all. I find if I use this a few nights in a row my skin is sensitive and almost gets worse so I will use it every second night or else just a handful of times over the week. It helps a lot with texture and the usual little under the skin bumps I used to get. I would say the Vichy Idealia Peeling would be a better choice for more sensitive skin.
Over-moisturising my skin was always a huge cause of spots but now that I'm on tablets for my acne I can moisture as much as I want. I got this moisturiser months ago in a goodie bag from an even but was always almost afraid to try it because I thought it would be way too thick for my skin but I was wrong. This is a thicker moisturiser than what I would usually use but it's a great one to use at night for an extra boost of moisture. If I want to use it in the morning I will mix it with my usual Simple Hydrating Light Moisturiser (that isn't part of this blogpost because it's cut open to get the last of the product out of the bottle, but I'm a big fan of that too!) So if you have drier or more mature skin this is a fab one to try, it smells amazing and the packaging is only to die for.
My friend Amelia recommended this eye cream to me and I had never heard about it before. I was starting to get really dry around my eye area and it got to the point where it was almost eczema. I bit the bullet and got this one morning and after applying layers of it all day I went out that night with a full face of makeup, liquid liner, fake lashes, glitter, the works and my eye was completely fine. This calms the eye area so well and moisturises it without it feeling too heavy. It is quite expensive but it is so incredibly worth it if your eyes are any way sensitive.
The Ordinary Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5
I talked about this in my blogspot all about The Ordinary Skincare which you can read here but I hadn't tried it out that much at that point. Now that the bottle is half gone I can definitely say that I'm a big fan of it. I will use it at night all over my face before moisturiser or else during the day I will mix a small bit into moisturiser but it has kept my skin very happy and moisturised recently. It absorbs into the skin so quickly and I think it does exactly the same job as a higher-end serum I used that was five times the price. If you need some extra moisture in your life this is definitely a great serum to check out.
