Last week I went to The Silly Goose for some drinks with my friend Rachel and I decided to share it with ye today because I don't know about ye but I'm always looking for new cool places to try out in Cork. I've been here a few times before but didn't take full advantage of their cocktail menu (spoiler alert: they're amazing!) but this time I definitely did.
So the Silly Goose is down the side street opposite to the Courthouse on Washington Street which is the perfect location for a drink in Cork. It has a big Orchard Thieves mural on the side so it's an easy one to find. The decor is really quirky with a lot of geese-themed decorations which makes sense. It's quite a small and cosy place , they even have board games if that floats your boat while having a drink.
Now what you're probably most interested in, the drinks. So of course we had to try their cocktail menu which is unreal. The 'Pink Lady' is a lovely refreshing cocktail with gin and the 'Cork Libre' is fab it's rum with Tanora. There was so much choice that I'd go back to try other cocktails in the future. If you're not into cocktails they have loads of draughts from Fran Well there as well as an extensive gin list so I'm sure you'd be able to find something that tickled your fancy.
Not only do they do drinks they also do food, I didn't have any last Thursday but it looked fab as did the menu so I will be sure to go back and try one of their burgers sometime soon. The prices are quite reasonable for the food and the cocktails are quite good value in comparison to other nice cocktails that would cost you an arm and a leg in Cork.
Another thing I love about The Silly Goose is that they have different deals every day of the week. So for example on Friday they have 2 for 1 on cocktails and on a Sunday you can get a cocktail and a burger for €15. You can find their food menu here with all the deals down the end.
I will certainly be going back there asap to try their food and even more cocktails. You can find out more from their website which has all of their social media linked. If there is anywhere you'd like me to try out in Cork then be certain to let me know in the comments or on my social media.
